| At last, we
can breathe in the Spring air, filled with scents of flowers, warmth, and
beauty. Even those who suffer with allergies can still appreciate the
incredible rebirth of the earth. We need to do whatever we can to maintain, protect and invigorate our environment. The high cost of heating fuel, the increased cost in food prices, and even the increase in the postage stamp, are reminders to us that we need to do whatever we can to change our life styles in order to be good stewards of God's. green earth. Are you conscientious about recycling paper and plastics? Is it possible for you to grow a tomato plant or a patch of lettuce in your garden or in small pot? Do you use cloth grocery bags when you go to the store for food? Even the smallest things we do can help the environment and the world. The same philosophy holds true for our faith in the life of Christ's church. We need to be good stewards of the blessings that God has given to us. Not only do we need to remember to turn out lights when we leave a room and turn down the thermostats and computers and air conditioners when we are finished, we also need to focus our talents and time to the projects and events that build up the church in our community. As Summer is fast approaching, it is a good time to relax and consider the importance of the church in your life, and the ways in which you can offer yourself in service to the mission of the church. The volunteer work you do brings Christ to life for yourself and the wider community. God bless you for all that you do for FBC in Tewksbury! Pastor Debbi |
